After rescuing Mr Bojangels I put him in the enclosure with Miss Muffit to eat. He immediately attacked her. I did read another member's post about not putting male and female together so I had to put a partition in to keep Miss Muffit safe. Have to build another enclosure for Mr Bojangels today. I think I should change his name to Aggro!

It looks like they may be different species?? Good idea to keep them separated.

Are they bowsprits? Chersina angulata? I can't tell from the pics, but just guessing really. If yes, the males are very aggressive and territorial. Most people over here opt to house them individually. I do. In a large well planted garden a group of several females and one dominant male might work, but it might not too...

I had to go out today and when I came back I found Miss Muffit has climbed over the partition and she is cuddling next no Mr Bojangels! I don't know if I should leave them until I have built another enclosure for Mr Bojangels.

Can someone confirm the fact i heard about tortoises are fine in larger groups because the aggressiveness is diluted?

Sort of, yes. Group dynamics are very different than pair dynamics.
Yes.
Groups can work. Especially in very large enclosures.
But that isn't always guaranteed.
Sometimes there will still be a tortoise or two that must be removed.

Agreed they look like Padlopers(or Homopus). Green with envy?! The one with the more worn shell and big head looks like an older male. The other is younger but looks adult size. Wonder if you have two boys or a pair?
