In my opinion I don't believe so, as long as he or she is active and happy I would feed he or she all it wants. Just make sure it eating the correct food. My Sulcata Sammy is also two years old in Dec. He also weighs just over 9 pounds , eats like a pig, always very active, happy and now with his size he his getting demanding we he wants someting to eat. Have not weighed him in almost a month.
My 2 year old is almost 9lbs is he or she overweight

This makes me really worried about the one I just rescued. It was in an aquarium with 2 other sulcatas that were much smaller and is supposed to be about 5 years old. He's only 3 lbs and 6.75 inches.

Looks beautiful!! It is amazing how fast they grow, and how the proper diet and environment can make a difference. A friend and I were each raising a sulcata from the same clutch (?) and the difference in the rate of growth was amazing During certain periods!
I stand corrected, "clutch"is for birds and according to google "creep" is used for tortoises. Learn something new everyday!

I have 2 tortoises which I purchased early in this year. The first one was purchased in January and the second one in February. Both of them are Sulcata.

Yesterday I measured their weight and turns out that both of them only gaining 1 gram in a month.
The weight of the 1st one is now 41 gr (it was 40 gr on Feb 6) and the 2nd one is now 39 gr (it was 38 gr on Feb 9)
Is this considered a normal growth?

I found that both of them are active and have no problem with eating.

Tortoises and turtles lay eggs in a group called a clutch...
A herd of tortoises is called a creep

Wow. What and how often do you feed him?
Welcome Fire_bug08, if you look this thread was originally posted in 2017. Being that it's a old post, you might not get a response.
I have done the same thing many a time.
Anyways welcome to the forum.
