I started a thread for all of my Sullies from the beginning but they are in different locations.... I wanted to start a current one and have them all in one place..
I have 4 year old Toretto who weighs 32lbs now and I have 2 year old Pickles and Crusher who are clutch-mates. Pickles weighs 18lbs 6oz. Crusher is much smaller at 9lbs 13oz but he is may start catching up now as his weight gain has been a bit more significant the past couple weigh-ins. They are all verified males:))A6AD04AD-B1ED-41B9-9AD5-9FAB568B9B81.jpeg6D5721C0-3392-4DED-92EE-E2D0A76BC648.jpeg1C525567-C20A-4AF1-8A06-D432666A5065.jpeg

Thank you both! It really trips me out how they each have such different personalities... Toretto is such a ham.. he follows me around for neck scratches and leg rubs... genuine affection and not food!

Pickles has some agressive tendencies... he’s very skittish and will charge things that spook him.. He actually nipped at me one time when he was smaller. I was toting him from a soak and had stopped in my daughters doorway to talk when I felt a little pinch.. I didn’t see it happen but it was the only thing I could figure... he doesn’t mind me so much these days and will even follow me in his yard... but it’s not for affection... more to keep eyeballs on what I’m doing in his space I think...

And then there’s little Crusher... I think he just doesn’t give a damn.. lol
He does not ever follow me around but is more than willing to have his neck or legs scratched... he is a picky eater ( in a good way) and I tend to think of him as my little nerd. ( Yes, I know I’m bad..but I have an affection for nerds because I’m a nerd at heart) I have always been baffled why his growth is so bumpy but I love his light coloring...

Nooo, no dawn, well Y says no anyway. That makes it law
Hey now, you know I wasn't pulling your leg when I said how pretty they are. They are really good looking torts, and it seems to me you have a couple of acres out there in Texass. I did leave out my opinion on the insanity of keeping 3 adult Sulcata, but you have the room. Big Sam is abt 60 lbs now and Knobby is 40. and I really don't have the room, but I just can't say no I guess. I'd like to have one who wasn't blind, sick or lame. All of my chelonia came as rescues.

I have been known to be a little crazy.. especially about animals... I started with two sulcata hatchlings under the same mistaken thought that many others have about two being better than one.... but I found out the first day that that wouldn’t fly and like you said, I had the room... then as I became a regular here on the forum, I began to see how many just couldn’t be kept.... and one lady’s story touched my heart... so I went and adopted the third... I’m proud to have them and my son is looking forward to having them as well..., he inherited my “animal bone” they are my sanity plan for retirement... lol!

I took a horse yesterday that had been severely beaten and was very malnourished... I’m in love with him already and I’ll have him looking like a prince within a month... I believe I’ll keep this one;-)

I think I was put her to help with the blind, sick, lame or orphaned in the world:)

I don't know that I was put here to help with abused animals. But when I was medically retired from driving truck, I started to help my sister at her rescue. Then realized she cared for so many, I would say I'll take that one, and that one and those 2, etc. For me she was like a freakin candy store. When she was getting so many clutches of Sulcata and desert torts, I started helping with the hatchlings and found out I was really good at caring for the small sick or lame, so off I went. Frankly, I always thought I didn't care much for tortoises, but I discovered that sitting on the block wall, in the soft sunshine watching one of my tortoises grazing or playing and I feel the anger, the hurt and the pain just sort of drift away.

No.. they chow down now all on their own. I rotate toppers such as calcium or Moringa powder... hibiscus powder.... the tortoise salad topper.... etc.... Since they are all in their own yard, they eat lots of different things so I don’t even have to put the feed out to keep them fed..

And Thank you!!!

That's exactly what I mean when I call Kronk my therapist. He just mellows me out. I've been through the ringer enough with these doctors that I already know what I'm supposed to say and what physical therapy I'm supposed to do and all that stuff. Having another person there is almost redundant at this point. I do what I'm supposed to do and while I do, Kronk goes about his business in the typical tortoise fashion. The plodding, bulldozer-like approach to everything he sees is almost zen. As if, with enough patience and tenacity he can overcome any obstacle. I'm trying to be more like that.

All 3 soaked, scrubbed and weighed.. Pickles charged me today! I promptly turned him over on his back for a good 30 seconds.. hopefully teaching him that I’m the boss. I purposely invaded his space and pestered him for about 10min afterwards and he did not attempt it again. I then played nice and gave him some neck rubs.. .. Stands to reason that the one that will probably get the biggest would be a mean ***! well, I got news for him.... I am meaner! 5D32D156-2713-4FD9-9D0F-A374E17E8F4D.jpeg
