Yep, I had that happen when my little boy first discovered his. I thought he was prolapsing his entire intestinal track. I put him in a Tupperware tub and ran in to Google it. Damn, they are ugly. LOL

Remember the movie "Alien" when the gross little creature busted out of Sigourny Weaver's chest? That's what I thought was happening to my tortoise the first time I seen it.

I freakin cannot believe you just posted that...!!! That's EXACTLY how I described Bob's but not a lot of people my age saw Alien so I stopped. LOL...It scared me so much I flung myself backwards away from him. Man, I love tortoises...

I was giving my little russian guy/girl a soak yesterday and while I was scrubbing poop off his belly side he peed and some white stuff came out too. I didn't see any "organ" or anything, does that mean he/she is a girl or it too young to tell? (he/she is 2 months old)

That is called urates, it has nothing to do with the tortoise gender. It’s a normal thing, don’t worry about it
Two months are still too early to sex your totrt.

It’s way too early to tell. Male tortoises typically “flash“ when they are reaching sexual maturity and figuring out what it is and how “it” works. I think my redfoot boy was about 5 years old.

Okay, thanks anyway. I’m already getting tired of the he/she him/her pronoun stuff. Sucks that I gotta wait years!! ☹️

Yep. I just pick a pronoun for mine and stuck with it until I know for sure. I had a parakeet named Buttercup for years who turned out to be a boy.

Well, don't be a tease. Tell us all about it.
Well... I was sitting outside with my so called female tortoise and he was just hanging around on some warm bricks. I noticed that his back legs kept getting taller and taller. He just stayed that way for so long that I had to pick him up to see if he was ok. Lo and behold there was this thing longer than him coming out of his body. It looked like raw beef jerky. I thought the warm bricks had sucked his inerds out. I panicked and ran to the sink and figured some cool water would help him roll it all back in.? I put him in his enclosure and was beating myself up for harming my poor little tortoise. But then common horse in the field sense took over and I knew I'd been flashed. Remember you asked for it ?.

Ah, the old "take a cold shower" trick.

Interesting comparison you made there. Do you eat beef jerky after that experience?

My Tortoise find a corner to be by himself, you know what going on when they raise them back leg up and start rubbing the wall. Your Tortoise is going to remember that you ruined his mood by giving him a cold shower.
