Do you guys think my tort is starting to pyramid? I soak everyday minimum of 30 minutes under the sun, humidity is kept at 85-90%, diet consist mainly of grass except on the weekend when we give mauri, malburry and romaine lettuce. The raised part seems to be only on the top of the shell as the rest of the schutes are perfectly smooth and round. Screen Shot 2021-04-15 at 12.17.27 AM.png

Yes. That is pyramiding, and the newer growth is more pyramided than the initial growth.

I thought so. Is there still a chance that it will be unnoticeable when he grows older? I will focus on keeping humidity up

If you move the tortoise into an indoor closed chamber with the right conditions, it should greatly reduce the effects of pyramiding over time.

They are in an enclosed enclosure with temperate consistently at 30C, humidity is always above 80. They get daily sunlight, daily soaks and eat grass mainly with the occasional Mazuri and opuntia. Cattle bone and water dish is provided 24/7. Anything else you think I need to address?

Something is desiccating the carapace.

How much sunning time do they get daily?

Is there a humid hide inside the indoor enclosure?

Humidity should be higher than 80%. 80% is the minimum.

What sort of basking bulb are you using indoors, and what is the temperature directly under it?

Out in the sun 1 hour a day, they have a humid hide that reaches 100 and the rest of the enclosure is playing around 80-90. Im using a 75W Zoomed bulb at 38C and is 12 inches above their shell. Philippines is a very humid country so normal temperate is already at 30C.
