Hi, I have 3 red foot tortoises & I notice more & more as they grow all 3 of them poop less regularly even when being fed daily. They eat sometimes separately to make sure no one is competing for food & are fed a wide variety of greens, fruits, tortoise feeds, vegetables & proteins, they get plenty of exercises roaming on an outdoor grass field with at least one hour of direct sunlight 4 days per week & I understand all this should promote food digestion as I read tortoises poop on a daily basis & not once every 3-4 days as with mine.

My Sheldon, a cherryhead redfoot poops very 2-3 days. I use fruit as a topper on his spring mix almost every day. I am sure every tort is different like people.
Plus maybe the poo is getting eaten before you have a chance to see it.

Like most things written about tortoise care, this is wrong. Some babies will poop daily, but older ones poop a lot less frequently. Many factors determine how often, but once or twice a week is pretty normal.

I hope poop eating wasn't the case but anything could happen, I check their enclosure daily every morning, afternoons & nights to make sure there's clean water & remove any leftovers. My tortoises usually run away from the spots after their poop or peed at even if they had been using it as a hide, I guess they can't even stand their own mess....
