Hello,
I am new here so hopefully not breaching any forum rules.
Does anybody know why my one year old Hermanns tortoise gets a super sticky slime all under his mouth/in his mouth only when he is put into his outside enclosure?
It’s so sticky it’s like the glue you get on a new bank/credit card that sticks it down to the letter it comes with.
Is it something he is eating, a slug maybe! Or a plant. The thing is the plants are all rated as safe (the tortoise table) and when I crush the plants in my fingers they’re not sticky.
Please advise, I am worried that this would stick over his nostrils and he could suffocate.
Can’t find an answer elsewhere so though I’d check with you guys.
Kind regards,
Nicholas.
