Redfoot egg, what changes occur after a month?

My redfoots surprise egg is still going at 39 days. I’m incubating it at 88 degrees and 80% humidity. We saw chalking in the first week or so but not much has changed since then. Is there any other indicator that the egg is still good? Is it likely that she will clutch again? Trying to keep a close eye on the cameras for signs of pacing and digging, she faked me out last week by showing signs of laying but I didn’t find eggs. 2FD30386-438D-4C38-A890-708F3FF3AB56.jpeg

Ive been giving her extra calcium, anything else I should do for her to support her while she’s producing eggs?

That doesn't look like a fertile egg to me.

Well it hasn’t gone bad, but usually by now you should see something. need a better look at the dark spot on the right hand side.

A month in, you should see something vaguely like this.

I carefully rotated the container the egg is in to get a better pic of the right side. What do you think?

45 days, the dark spot has spread. Still no idea if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.

I think I'm seeing veins there, but hard to tell without better lighting.

Thank you so much!!! We were completely surprised when our "new" (to us) redfoot laid eggs. Didn't think there was much of a chance of it being fertile.

After about 21 days, you should be able to see a red dot (the blood spot) with a fine red blood vessel emanating from it (the halo) and going around the inner circumference of the egg. At one month, the blood spot should appear larger and there should be multiple fine blood vessels visible inside the egg.

It looks as though the egg has blood vessels now. It would be easier to see them with a mini mag lite placed closer to the side of the egg. Do not use a mini mag lite with an LED bulb, though. Use one with an incandescent bulb (if you can find one).
