Hey everyone!

I’m sure I’ll have a lot more questions even though I’ve done hours of research in the past 4 days. I was at an expo and fell in love with my little girl. But I will be the first to admit it was an emotional buy and I was no where prepared for it! Please no hate I am doing my best to learn and get her all set up! She is current in a 30x12x12 tank. Which I know is way too small and should have her in a bigger enclosure in the next 2 days. I had her for 2 days with no UVB light but she has both UVB tube light and basking light now. I believe she is a Tunisian tortoise and 4 years old. Again I didn’t ask any of the questions I should of. I understand that. I do soak her every morning. I haven’t really seen her drinking and she has not ate a thing in 5 days. I’m hoping once she is in a bigger enclosure with more room and hides and things to climb, after a couple days she will start eating. I will attach photos of her if anyone can confirm she is Tunisian and if anyone thinks I’m right with her age guess. Also the last thing I’m real struggling with because there is so many contradicting post out there… what is the best substrate for her? In the new enclosure I’m thinking top soil and a mix of coconut coir soil. She is currently on coconut mulch. Thanks so much!

So cute! We now have a baby Greek tortoise as well as our Hermann's...I keep trying coconut coir because I think it looks nicer to burrow in but it gets all over and I think it's unhealthy to digest. I've been most pleased with orchid bark as a substrate. We spray it with warm water a few times a day.
