Hi, I am looking to adopt a Russian Tortoise for the first time. I live in Vermont and haven't found any local breeders within 2 hours of me online. I was looking at some online sites like Tortoise Town and Backwater Reptiles and a majority of the reviews were negative. As I don't have any experience with adopting reptiles I would appreciate any advice or recommendations, I looked at some Reddit threads and thought this would be the best place to ask!

Oh boy did you luck out and find the right place!!! Hello and welcome. We have several excellent breeders right here on the forum. @Carol S and @biochemnerd808 come to mind, and I remember at least two others recently having success, but can't remember who it was now. Hopefully they will see this and chime in.

Thanks so much!
Also, while we are at it, most of the care info you find online ad from pet shops is all wrong. Any of the breeders here will get you on the right track, but here is the current and correct care info:

Questions are welcome.

Thank you for tagging me, @Tom.
Hi Camille, I currently have a few eggs in the incubator, and several more expected in the next weeks. It takes 60-75 days for them to hatch. Once hatched, I raise my hatchlings until they have at least tripled their hatch weight. This takes a few months, but in my opinion is absolutely worth the wait - my buyers receive a well-started, thriving baby. I ship all over the contiguous US.
I know @Carol S produces healthy beautiful babies as well. I would totally buy a baby from her.
