2nd time posting. I’ve been doing some research and just wanted to confirm…

-What type of thermometers do I use? Lots of contradiction on analog thermometers and digital thermometers I saw on this forum. Is it alright if anyone is able to provide an Amazon link(s)? I’m aware that I need to use an infrared thermometer as well (would be nice if anyone could provide an Amazon link for a good one).

-What are some good hygrometer brands? Is it alright if anyone can provide an Amazon link?

-Where do I put the thermometers? How many thermometers do I put?

-Where do I put the hygrometer?

Sorry if some of the stuff I said above didn’t make sense or if the answer was completely obvious. Just wanted to double check.
Thanks.

Where do you put it? Everywhere. Move it around the enclosure to see what you've got. Put it in the humid hide, let it bake under the heat lamp to make sure your basking temp is set correctly, put it on the cool side away from the heat sources, etc...

That's why a infrared temp gun is great to have. It doesn't read humidity but you can get instant temp readings anywhere in your enclosure. Just don't point the infrared at the eyes. This one has worked well for me. Screenshot_20201118-094349_Chrome.jpg

I've got 2 or 3 of this almost exact ACU RITE brand thermometer and humidity gauge.
They're inexpensive and seem to just last forever.
HOME DEPOT sells them in the garden department near the wall hanging outdoor thermometers

The price at home depot jumped from $11 each to $25 each. No thank you. I order them on Amazon now.

It's been probably 10 years since I've bought one.
They still work.
Mine only last a couple of years in the high humidity environments like closed chambers or outdoor humid night boxes. I used to just go to Home Depot and buy the whole tray of 12 of them, but those days appear to be over.
