This is Myakoda, we found her in the middle of the street. She was a hatchling, she had a yolk sac that was almost healed. Now she's about six months. My husband is holding her here. I'm so new to a lot of this. Although I've read, and watched tons of hours of information. I have a lot of questions.
Myakoda is adorable. If you have any questions just ask. Post under the sulcata section. Are you soaking in warm water for a 1/2 hour everyday?

Thank you.
I do have a few concerns about Myakoda. I've never had a Torty, she's so sweet. I can't believe we found her in the middle of the street. I have a few questions about why her front legs move when she breathes. I have noticed it recently. She has no signs of congestion, runny eyes, nose etc... If anyone has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it. ? Concerned Torty Mom...?

As long as you are not hearing any wheezing and no bubbles coming out the nose that is normal. Make sure to soak her everyday for 1/2 hr. Warm water depth to where the top and bottom shell meet. Dont let water to cool down.
It looks like you have her in a open top enclosure. You can't keep consistent heat or humidity in a open top. Look at closed enclosures here on the forum.

Hi, we have a teranium with mesh on top. This is where her 2 UVB lights, heat/basking lamp, and her night ceramic heater are on. Her humidity stays between 40 to 50%. Then her basking area is about 92, and ambiant about 80ish. She loves to go in her log and sleep. Her nose, mouth, and eyes are dry. No wheezing. Def going tosoak her more.

When we soak her in her turanium, under her basking lamp. Is that ok to do? Also, so it's normal for their front legs to move as she breathes in and out?

Try covering the mesh with tin foil. The humidity needs to be 80% or higher. Could you send a pic of your UVB lights. There are some that can damage the eyes. Just want to make sure you have the correct light.

Wow, 80%! I need to get some moss, and soak it to put in her log. Tin foil may be difficult. I will look at the kind we bought and let you know. I'm freakin about the 80%, an

Hi Wow, 80%! I need to get some moss, and soak it to put in her log. Tin foil may be difficult, I'm freakin about the 80%, and the highest it gets is 50. Ugh.

You know, tin foil can be done. My husband said he can do it cutting holes for the lights. I have read so much, and it's always 50% or so. I thought if to high shell rot, or respiratory infections can occur? I feel bad now, I know she's getting enough heat, and the lights are the best the pet store had. Zoo Med? Ceramic no light heater for night time. I'll get the exact kind we have. I don't have the box, we just got a higher one, 100 watts. I have pics, however I'm unable to download them in here. Ugh!

Don't use moss they have a tendency to eat it. If you can fasten a sponge to the top of the log that will work. But some how you need to cover the top.
