Steve's been doing great he does is zooms in the morning after he eats. He now weighs about 148grams. I did have a question about his markings do all sulcatas babies stay dark in color? We he is older will he become more of a beige tan like I see in photos?

Hi Id like to ask the same question also when roughly would the change colour? Are baby SULCATA naturally light then go darker & end up light? Or are there different variants of this breed? Thks in advance

From what I have read so far there are many theories when it comes to the color of the tortoise. Seems like there are many factors including genetics, there is a debate that the tortoise spending most of the time in a natural sun (outdoor) tend to be lighter. I feel like Herbie was a bit lighter shade when he spend more time outside. Also seems like a Sudanese sulcatas are lighter in color - that is just my own “theory”.
Healthy shell is most important.
