Lady and the Duck
This is incredible. I wish my torts can do this and act like humans/dogs. They look so peaceful here! Love it
You can. More in equals more out. Even stubborn torts. You want them to feel so comfortable with you. It often starts with patience to hand feed.

Absolutely! Mine did it for years also. Idk any magic to stop that. I can say start a routine. I feed then warm soak. A little bask of sun or uvb. Then exercise a little explore, crawl, climb. This takes me 1-to whenever hours. Now they are fed, probably pooped, a little tired and already explored so not feeling as trapped. That’s a good time to interact with them. Get the trust. You can touch Duck anywhere he has zero fear of being hurt by me. You can take it as far as you want. Movie time with shell rub. I have a tortoise that is unreal. He is a dog. I don’t tell many people what he can do and behavior because it is not even believable. However he always had a special build room. Never caged. When ppl enter his room. He comes out of one of his houses or hides to greet you. 31 years of love into him. But he became keen about 10 years into his care.
