When I was told that a friend of a friend had two turtles that she was going to dump if no one took them, I immediately jumped on it. They had "everything they need" - a 10 gallon tank, a small filter, a small floating basking rock and some food. For two 5 inch red eared sliders! Tomato and Tomato (let's spell her name Tomahto, to avoid the confusion!) need LOTS of tlc after the conditions they were living in!
I have no clue what I'm doing, but I'm eager to learn and will probably ask more questions than you ever thought existed, but it's only because I already love these girls so much!
If you live in Northern VA, DC or MD and have a large tank, filters, basking/heat lamps and various other aquatic turtle supplies that you would be willing to donate/sell for an insanely low price to give these two a happy home, please let me know! I'm cleaning out my bank account to get them the medical care they so badly need, so everything but a cuttle bone and water conditioner will have to wait.
