So my first plan was just to cover as much mesh as I could with the plexi glass not make a whole lid for it.

If you still wanted to keep the tortoise table you could put a plactic tray on the bottom which would help the wood with the water. And you can cover part of the top so the humidity stays in. Just a thought

Ok so I found this stuff at menards it looks exactly like coconut coir to me. My plan was to put about 4 inches of this down and then cypress multch on top for a dry layer has anyone else used this stuff before does it work is it safe? Or am I better off just buy eco earth or something like that...
