    Does anyone own a macaw?

Having a parrot is a life long commitment. A lot of thought should go into that decision. Will, I always have the time to devote to his happiness and good health?

    Feeding Tortoise On Soil?

I have a plastic saucer that I filled with dirt from outside and put some flat rocks on top of it for a basking area and put it under his light. The light heats it up real nice so he gets warm from underneath as well. The first time I put it in his cage he ran right in and started eating dirt...

I have a Red-Foot here in Southwest Wyoming that I rescued from a bad situation about a year and a half ago. He has a very nice personality and really likes being with people. Unfortunately he has outgrown the space we have for him indoors and it's too cold most of the year for him to be...

    Wanting to adopt

RE: Red-Foot for adoption He's 9 inches and does have some pyramiding but otherwise seems in good health. I would be willing to drive a few hundred miles. We might even be able to find somebody heading that way that would be willing to transport him.

    exhale hiss

The red foot needs a lot more humidity than RT and I also feed him more fruit. He's also a lot bigger so he needs a much bigger space. I didn't buy him, I rescued him out of a very bad situation. I have also been thinking that it might be better for him to go to somebody that can give him more...

    exhale hiss

Yes, I have noticed that Russian tortoises do get startled more easily than other tortoises. My RT does get startled a lot easier than my red-foot and likes to hiss a lot. He's not as social as the red-foot but he has gotten a little bit better.Just keep at it and don't get discouraged three...
