My two year old male sulcata is as happy and healthy as I could want. When I'm in the kitchen cooking or doing dishes he always under foot. I think it's adorable of course, but sometimes he'll bite my toes. What gives? Am I food? Is he trying to get my attention?
I was soaking my 2 year old Sulcata today and he (not sure the sex actually) did something pretty weird. First he expelled some urates. No big deal. But then he stood for a while with his back legs really wide. I could see that he was struggling with something. Then I saw this pink tissue start...
My baby sulcata swims!! Took me a while to actually believe it. Came together as an accident while a friend was watching him. But after further testing, Orson loves to swim!!! I even went so far as to give him an "island". I placed his wooden hide in the sink with him to absorb water to raise...
These suggestions are great!! What's funny is that he won't eat red things either. Hibiscus is out!! Roses no way!! Lol!! He likes grass, dandelions, romaine and mixed greens.
I'll def trying the "tough love" approach. He is super active and really healthy. He'll be fine
Thank you so much for the great advice!! I'll jump right on that!! Just trying to make sure he has a well balanced diet with the winter months approaching which means that he can't go outside as often to graze.
Orson is roughly 4 months old and weighs 62 grams. I know he's under weight so I'm trying to get him to eat Mazuri but he won't!!
He is a big eater. Very active. Very healthy. He eats everything. His favorites are dandelions, romaine and mixed greens (no spinach or iceberg of coarse). I've...
I did recently reverse the position of his hide and his terra Cora water dish. I switched the two to avoid possible water damage to the wood floor from seepage from the terra cota.
I will probe the hide today and tonight and record the temps.
He does occasionally make squeaking noises. They...
I've had little Orson for about 2 1/2 months. He has all the signs of being a happy and very adventurous little tort.
Within the last week though he has stopped sleeping at night in his hide. Instead he either sleeps out in the open of his indoor enclosure or he burrows down into the coco...
I brought Orson home 2 months ago from a reputable pet shop here in San Diego. I did lots of my own research prior to bringing him home, but like many people on this forum, I got bad advice about humidity levels. Thanks to this forum and good old fashion book learnin' I knew the salesman was...
My girlfriend and I brought home a hatchling sully 2 weeks ago. His name is Orson and from his petite size I'm assuming he's only a few weeks old. I have an indoor and outdoor enclosure for him here in San Diego. His indoor enclosure is the ZooMed Tortoise House. I have a MVB on a 12 hour timer...
