    Smell free enclosure

During the coldest part of winter, I have a house in the house for Tortimer. I clean his substrate with a kitty litter scoop. He usually pees when I soak him, so urine in the substrate isn't too big of an issue. I do have allergies, so I have a large air purifier in the same room as him. I put...

    How often do you feed?

Do what I do... create a beautiful garden full of tortiose friendly plants half way to maturity in the middle of a backyard full of edible grasses and watch em eat and stomp all over your garden. It's fun and won't make you feel sad at all. (Tortimer eats daily. During the winter, he eats every...

Signs of bullying in young tortoises

Hahaha yes!!! Their stubbornness rivals my own and my cats. I've had to talk people out of getting them as pets. Their cute and it's all fun and games until you're having to replace siding on a house and needing to spend hundreds to thousands on keeping them comfortable. Not happy... just...

Big guy! Anyone want to take a guess at his age?

The only time Tortimer shows signs of digging is when I'm misting him off on the grass under a shade tree on a hot day. Then he flips the grass and mud he makes onto himself. Other than that... nothing yet.

Signs of bullying in young tortoises

Side note... I did make the mistake of letting him in the house when I first got him. Positive thing to come out of that experience... I learned how to fix dry wall and tile that weekend.

Signs of bullying in young tortoises

Hahahaha! He has about a quarter acre of grass that he thinks is far, far too small. I sectioned off an area that was supposed to be his garden, but yesterday he decided to trample everything and eat the heads off all of the plants that were barely sprouting. Poor things are only stems sticking...

Big guy! Anyone want to take a guess at his age?

What a good looking "little" guy. How do you keep his shell so shiny?

Big guy! Anyone want to take a guess at his age?

Mine was 6 years old at 52 lbs per his last vet appointment. When I got him... when he was just turning 5 years old and he was about 40 lbs per his previous owner. His previous owner said he was around 28 lbs when he was 3. So look everyone has been mentioning... it's pretty difficult to tell...

Signs of bullying in young tortoises

Now... what do I do when my tortiose is bullying me?! Tortimer is no longer scared of me. If I make any change to the backyard, he goes right to it and knocks it down or lays on it. So the garden I've been growing for him has been smashed. He'll come up to me and look at my hands. If I don't...

    Isn't this too much fruit???

Comment on it and just ignore the hate. That's how I handle youtube videos. And no matter how much a comment gets hate on... there is at least one person that actually listens and learns

    Isn't this too much fruit???

In Utah, Evermore has an animal show that includes reptiles. Reptiles they put on display in the dead of winter when the temperature is in no way hot enough for the reptiles they're handling. I've tried to bring it up with management, but of course... the "reptile experts" know best.

    Isn't this too much fruit???

That!!! I kept wondering if Tiptoe was really 175 lbs. She says he's 19 years old. Tortimer is 52lbs per his last check up at 7 years old. How much do you think Tiptoe weighs?

Ever Wonder How Fast A Sulcata Can Grow?

Any update on how big he's gotten now?

    Isn't this too much fruit???

If a person can't get out of the way from Tiptoe trying to climb on them... I worry more about why the person can't. Tortimer steps on me (I'm pretty positive it's out of spite) but he actively avoids all people that's not me. Hopefully that's the case for Tiptoe.

    Positive associations?

Oooo I do believe that I need a video of you doing all of that... purely for academic purposes
