Thinking of putting tort in "Florida room" with lots of sun and a heater, but no AC. It gets pretty hot in the summer. Would tort be ok in there or can it get too hot for her?
Any ideas for making an indoor enclosure look nice without paints and stains?
Enclosure is impossible to move outside, and I don't want to expose tort to fumes. Enclosure is open top, 6x3.
I am thinking of doing a few stencils on the exterior of my tort's indoor enclosure. She stays inside normally. If I took her outside while painting, and used no VOC paint, would it be safe to bring her back in a few hours later?
I've had my Russian, Henry, for over 5 years and she is my only pet. We are also considering a dog, but are worried about their interaction. Any tips? So worried a dog might decide she is a chew toy!
I just noticed tiny green balls in my supposedly organic soil used in my Russians enclosure. When squeezed, it releases liquid and white powder. Will this harm my tort? I recently witnessed her eat one, should I be worried? What kind of organic soil is recommended? I've been using Miracle grow...
I'm about to order a Zoo Med ReptiSun 10 UVB tube flourescent bulb for my enclosure, but don't know what wattage to get. They come in 15, 18, 30 and 36 watt. It's for a 3' by 3' indoor enclosure, for my Russian tortoise. Any advice would be helpful!
Hello,

She hasn't been eating dandelions, but maybe there is something else she's eating that's triggering it. I feed as varied as I can, though somewhat limited by what I can find plus she's a picky eater and doesn't like half the things she's supposed to eat.
My Russian's urates have been tinted orange for the last several weeks. Should I be concerned? She has had some orange-colored food like carrots and pumpkin, but it's been almost a month since she's eaten that.
