This is my buddy Shredder.

Ive read on here not to use sand like substrate because if they eat it it could compact them.

I am fairly new to this as well. Have had my sully for 2 months. I havent heard of the walnut.

I use zoo med eco earth. Compressed coconut fiber. Comes in bricks.

Shredder all sprawled out and chillin.

Had to block my Shredder in his humid hide at night per Toms suggestion. But just look at that face peeking out making me feel guilty. He loves his hide now but still block him in as his heating pad is under there and dont want him to get chilly. I just adore this little sully.

Thankfully i have a few more pots of chia growing because Shredded just mowed this one down. Hes so much fun to watch.

Thank you Aunt Caffy. He was started dry by the pet store so i am working hard to get him to where he needs to be. He even squeeked at me for the first time last night while i was petting his head.

He loves it! I used my little kitchen chopped and sprinkled a little calcium in it.

Can you slice and freeze? Its a large pad and i dont want to waste it. I potted the whole cactus and took a cutting to replant later.

My aunt just sent me a beautiful prickly pear cactus with roots and a cutting from Arizona. I live in Ohio. Can someone please give me feeding pointers? I have a small sulcata. 4.15oz small. Any advice on how to feed to my sully and care for this cactus would be greatly appreciated.

Update: I felt so bad blocking him in his hide the first night but i was able to pin a rock in the doorway so he could still see out. I didnt want him to feel like he was in a tomb. The last 2 nights i have watched him peeking out at me. He then goes in the back and gets comfy for the night...

I have read on here about sullys doing a dance when you rub their butt. Well my little sully just did it and i am still laughing so hard i am crying! Just one more milestone for this new momma and her Shredder.
