    Moisture in Indoor Table

Okay, so it has been many years since I've had my tortoises inside. They're all big now and live outdoors year round with heated boxes in winter. Lots of care suggestions have changed since I got them 13 years ago so I wanted to get some opinions. I'm about to build a new tortoise table for...

    Enclosed Outdoor Enclosure

For those with smaller tortoises/babies, I'd love to see your enclosed outdoor enclosures. My Russian is getting an updated pen when it gets warmer and I now have a baby Sulcata who needs to enjoy some outdoor living without me worrying about hawks and raccoons and all that. I figure whatever I...

Question For Those Using Tom's Night Box

I love the night box design. My leopard spends a lot of time in hers in the winter. I'm in north Georgia so we do get some warm winter days where she can be outside, but mostly she has to sleep in there and exercise/eat in my house under uva/uva bulbs. The one year it snowed, not that it would...

Russian Tortoise in Winter Take II

Only said newspaper/paper towels because I literally have someone paying for my groceries to make sure myself and animals eat. An $8000 surgery for my dog (When I had a job) wiped out my savings, then lost my job a few months later. It hurt financially pretty badly. Thanks for the well wishes...

Russian Tortoise in Winter Take II

I can't. At least not this year. I lost my job in March. Living on savings right now until one of these interviews pans out. Looks like he's staying awake on news paoers this year. I do appreciate all the advice and warnings. Thanks, everyone.

Russian Tortoise in Winter Take II

Okay, so I read over the post you suggested @Tom . I'm looking into letting him go into hibernation on his own again (the sun and temperature naturally coaxing him to sleep) and keeping him in a box with confetti shredding or something in my garage for the winter once he's down. Much colder in...

Russian Tortoise in Winter Take II

He hasn't been indoors in two years. He hibernated outside last year. I was going to do it better this year but.. Seems that's frowned upon. I don't have an enclosure for my Russian since moving 2 years ago. No room to put him in this house. That's why I did the natural outdoor thing. I...

Russian Tortoise in Winter Take II

Okay so I haven't been active in a couple of years since I built my Leopard's heated night box (Thank you, Tom!!!!) and my Russian's partially underground box (Thank you yet again, Tom!) Anyway, this will be my second year letting my tortoise hibernate on his own outside. The box I built last...

    Just Whining

Makes sense. Doesn't mean I'm happy about carrying her heavy butt daily, but I'll do it because I love her. <3

How about you just bring me your guy and they can be cold spot partners at my house? :D

    Just Whining

Ha! Everyone keeps trying to steal my little lovely. She's a total pain, but she's my pain. Visitors are welcome, but I will be checking coats before anyone leaves. :P

Lovely. She's just going to be a stubborn pain in my behind, I guess. Got to love her.....

    Just Whining

There is one she goes to when it gets dark, but during the day she has about 5 different retreats she goes to. I assumed she'd be where the sun is, but no... She stays in the shade. She's inside until it's an appropriate temp. Just annoyed with her.

    Just Whining

I have a thicket of bamboo in the back yard that she retreats to before it gets dark. Without fail, if I put her in the box and there is still sun, she will come out of the box and go to the thicket.... I just lock her in and let her be mad. It's frustrating. I'm destined to carry her butt...
