have decided to change my russian torts substrate to coconut coir as i've been incredibly unlucky with top soil recently as they have been infested with fly eggs. I have bought the bag not bricks do i still have to soak it? or can i just give it a spray?

He's 4 inches long . Was 3 inches when I bought him .

The pet shop I bought him from told me he was around 18 months old. Which would now make him 4 years old. He has only grown an inch in that time. When I see pics of other tortoises they seem so much bigger than him He weighs 222g .

Hey guys Just wondering how quickly a tortoise grows. My Russian seems to only have grown about an inch in 2 and half years is this normal?

yes he's very much in charge. He let's me know when he doesn't want to be bothered thats why I cherish every moment he comes over for a stroke as those times are so rare lol

yes he is very bold Lol. It's nice he feels comfortable enough to try and attack me I suppose. He just did it again when I tried to dampen his Substate Cheeky little thing.

I'm guessing he's a male I'm still unsure as he's so small. Hopefully it's just a phase for now. Then I'll have more aggression to look forward to when he reaches adulthood lol

I only hand fed him a couple of times when I first had him to try and assure him I wasn't the enemy lol. I haven't hand fed him in months and he never bit me then . So just wondering why he start doing this now.

He won't lay directly underneath he basks to the side of it wouldn't that suggest its a bit too hot?
