As long as your tort is eating, drinking, and pooping, he'll be fine... Enjoy him while he is small! Occasionally, there will be a tortoise that grows extra slow. I got my tortoise when she was a couple years old and she is extremely small for her age, but she grows everyday thanks to a healthy...

Fruits are amazing sources of nutrients. I agree they are treats, and should only be given in small amounts. I like to think of fruits as a tortoise vitamin :) Even if fruit is given as a treat it is still a part of their diet.

Dehydration Issue: Wash the romaine leaves and prickly pear before you feed them, but don't dry it. He/she will get the water she needs that way :) I'm so glad you are feeding your tort all of that healthy food! So many torts nowadays are eating processed garbage :(

They don't look abnormal to me... maybe they're just growth lines? It's possible that it is too humid.

Wow! Congratulations on your new baby! I would start feeding some tall healthy grass, lettuce (anything, but iceburg lettuce), fruits, and vegtables, and I would use that soft food only as a supplement.

You're the kind of person that likes to spoil your tort :) I am too. Soaks will help, as Yvonne has said, but there is also this really great lotion that tortoises LOVE and it make a tremendous difference in the appearance of your baby. It is called Turtle Shell Saver and it is made by Nature...

Big enough so he can't see out and big enough he can walk around comfortably.
