Most of his diet is grass from the yard, I mix in a bit of romaine and mazuri. I also give him Timothy hay and clovers. I also spray his food with zilla calcium spray. I'm guessing that he is eating the pine needles while he waits for his food. Are the pine needles toxic?
I have a large 9 year old male sulcata eating pine needles. I have never seen him eat them but I've been seeing them in his poop. Is it safe for him to eat them?
My tort did this a few times, i realized his night box was too hot. Once i would lower the temp, he would stay inside. At the time i was using a infrared basking bulb. What heat source do you use?

Hello, i recently had this same problem with my 8yr old sulcata. I learned that my heating house wasnt warm enough. I was advised to bring up the temperature. Once i brought up the temp it went way in a couple of days.
He has no problem eating, it doesn't seem to bother him when i touch it. Im guessing its been there for about a month. I took him to the vet back in september and there was nothing on his neck then.
Hey guys, i recently found a hard lump on my tortoise's neck. He is 60 pound 9 yr old male. Any i deas on what it might be? Im trying to load a video of it, but for some reason the app isnt letting me.
Yeah i think he might be too big. I already ordered a kane heating mat and i will be putting a small heater inside his house. Thank you for the info[emoji4]
The inside of his house is covered with refletive insulation and i have a 150 wat infared heat light. Im not sure of the exact temp inside, but its pretty warm. He also has a woden door so that the heat doest escape. I have use this same set up for years and it hasn't been a problem.
I dont understand either. Ive had him for 7 yrs and ive never had a problem with him. That is why i am taking him with a more experienced vet for further testing. I hope that what ever it is we caught it early enough for him to make a full recovery. Thank you for your advice.
