Tort grinding his own nails down...

Another update (sorry for the lateness): for those concerned we checked with the sod company from which we purchased the strip from. It’s totally organic fescue grass (no chems, no fertilizer). I wouldn’t put any plant life near any of my pets without checking this kind of info. I called the...

Tort grinding his own nails down...

Update: I went out and bought a rubber dog ball to try to see if he is interested in that and I also picked up some rolled sod from Home Depot. The sod takes up about half of the enclosure. He booped the ball around a bit and was super interested in the sod. I noticed the sod is kind of...

Tort grinding his own nails down...

Any suggestions? Seems like anything I put there would just make more corners. -.-

Tort grinding his own nails down...

It’s the corners mainly. Like I said it’s a 5x5 box. One foot tall all around. My vet thinks I spoil him. At his current size he should be happy with what he’s in. I could try adding some dog toys. Ik other tort owners have claimed that their torts play with them so maybe that would distract...

Tort grinding his own nails down...

They are shiny side out. I figured that the back sides would be way too abrasive. I think it’s the corner tiles that are causing the problem as he uses his front feet to try to go up them. I might just have to remove them from the corner. Which means he’s going to rip through the plastic again...

    Darwin/Outdoor Enclosure Update!

Hello forum peoples. It’s been a long while since I posted but I wanted to give an update on my bug guy. Darwin is a three year old male leopard tortoise. He is currently sitting at around 10 inches long. I haven’t weighed him recently but he just had his check up and his exotic based...

    Update

Hello evteryone! Just want to pop in to let everyone know that we have discovered that Molly is not a female. During yesterday's soak he flashed me!!! So we have opted for the name Darwin instead. Of course we still love our little Darwin and we hope he forgives us for calling him a girl for...

    Molly/Enclosure Update

Forgot to add, we had to enclose off a section with more wood because she absolutely refused to use the black hide boxes I gave her. Idk why, she is stubborn but she uses the new area all the time. :)

    Molly/Enclosure Update

Hello guys, thank you for the input. We are super lucky in that we live in an apartment on the third floor. Our building has resonating heat that comes up through the floor. I keep our own apartment thermostat at 75 ( as high as it will go). Using my hand thermometer/hydrometer I'm happy to...

    Molly/Enclosure Update

Hello all! I have been away from the forum for a while but I wanted to give an update on Molly! In the upcoming January she will turn ~1 year of age and she is about 6-7 inches long. She is still getting a mixture of organic spring mix, raddicio (I'm very sure she is clinically addicted to it...

Almost three years old and still tiny

I would definitly take it to a vet. They may be able to figure out why it isn't growing. Yes they should have around 80% humidity in their enclosures. The only thing that I could think may be causing this is that it has some sort of parasite. But like I said only a vet would be able to tell you...

    Leopard Meal Prep

When I first got mine I went out and bought a food chopper just for her because she definitly couldn't handle the larger leaves. Now that she is 5 months old and around 4 inches long I don't need to use it anymore. She pins the leaves down with her legs and rips them apart. I would consider...
