Its a common thing, i use citric acid to get rid of the minerals. It reacts with the carbonates and breaks them into CO2 gas.

Its nothing hard, you just need to screw wood plates together. The only skill based part is when you cut the boards to the proper size.
You need to protect the bottom with some foil from water.

Really nice setup, he is a lucky tort. :) I set the thermostat to maintain 26-27 C close to the wall in the middle of the terrarium above 5 cm of the substrate. There is some corners where its only 24-25 C, but never had any problem with temps.

Poops my god, my sulcata is ~700g finally i was abble to convince him to poop every morning during soaking. It means everything from a cleaning point of view. Now i am thinking, how can i maintain this, even if he will be 100+ pounds, for the rest of my life.
Yeah, two weaks ago we got here 6-7 days of spring with temps in the high 50-s, dandelions instantli started to grow, its insane. I never noticed this before i got a tortoise to feed :D
I am almos sure that the spilled pellets causes it, because its only grow near of it. The other part of the enclosure where the greens are during the day arent infected. And this was the case the last time also. I think i just need to accept it, and change that few liters of substrate monthly...
