Look at Morla’s tail. Short or perhaps a bit nubby may mean a female, if longer tail you can probably assume male. Also look at the notch. Females have a U shape notch, males have more of a V shaped notched. Morla looks super adorable!!
My guess that it may be a green or maybe a fungi. Try soaking him and maybe see if you can wash it off if he isn’t too spooked. If it doesn’t come off I’m not so sure what it could possibly be.
