Happy Easter everyone! Tegan is a week away from being two years old... and has just confirmed that tegan is in fact.... a boy!!! Growing fast! (he’s enjoying his hibiscus and cactus pad — no eating the azaleas though!) ATTACH=full]234898
Figure it's time for an update, it's been awhile! Tegan is almost 10 months old, and is growing like a weed!
She has a new set up to give her space for all her plants, and is just loving it!! (A little more than two by two feet) Her grandpa built it, and it's been holding humidity pretty nicely...
I got tegan as a hatchling, I think her hatch date is about April 7th, 2016! (That's when we'll celebrate at least, I got her on the 13th)
That's a picture from the day I got her, and now she's almost 500 grams
!
Thank you all for the advice, I will not be deworming! I figured it was a money trick. The vet didn't even say what worms he was worried about! Tegan is still gaining weight and active as ever!
Thanks for the advice. She was bought from backwater reptiles in Florida, and I suspect incubator raised. I got her when she still had a little belly button, and she's been in clean care :) she does get plenty of time outside though.
Thank you for the advice, how often do people usually have stool sampled? She is kept inside of course but does get quite a lot of time outside(usually ~2 hours a day) if that factors into how often.
Hi all! I have recently spoken to an owner of a sulcata that is also a vet. They suggest deworming baby tortoises as a precautionary measure. To me, this seems a bit excessive, and I would rather not stress out Tegan for no reason (until there is any reason to suspect worms). Any thoughts on...
Welcome to the forum! This place is truly a goldmine of information and great advice. I have a little sulcata too, she's just about 4 months old.
How old are yours?
