I have also read that they can’t hear but I swear when I talk to our tortoise or call her name she seems to respond so I’m not sure if it is by the vibration of the way I talk she recognizes it... i would quarantine any new tortoise before introducing them to the same enclosure...
They are housed outside she has the on a variety diet along with mazuri tortoise diet n she just measured n weighEd it today for me she also said she wasn’t 100% sure but thinks it could be a female but still too young to tell
Thank u I’m assuming by the nu of tortoises they have outdoors n idk on weight or size I can message them to get this information the 40 gallon is only temporary til we can build a indoor enclosure or buy a custom maid one cause if u know how michiga get we can offer an outdoor living space...

we live in Michigan and need help with the basking area we had a 150 watt zoomed basking bulb but it seemed to be getting to hot measuring to be 107f so we as of right now switched it to the 100watt bulb which is measuring to be 85f ish so we were wondering what type of bulb we should use and...

Absolutely not he has a 40 gallon enclosure just wanted him to be in something big to go to the vet rather than stressing him out with everything this is his enclosure
We are very thankful for taking our little guy to the vet if we hadn’t he may have got worse. His shell is already soft due to him being a baby but his shell was a little too soft so a couple visits to the vet for vitamin b, d3,& e injections... we have heard and read a lot of negative comments...
