Hi everyone.... I have a problem with Mosquitoes.... but not in the water. They are bothering my Torts. They hang around their faces and clearly are annoying. Any suggestions on how I can stop this? Something I can dab on the tort to deter them that is safe? They are in large outdoor enclosures.

She is still doing ok.... But not moving around as much as she used to. She is eating well. Temps are now 100@basking spot..... 90-95 just near that end. And 80-85 at the other end. Hoping these small adjustments will help her.

I got rid of the infrared. We have driven the almost 100km each way and found a ceramic heat thing. It is a 100W.... now to just see what temps it will create. Starfire is still eating, so that is good, but I am worried about the temps still. Have also got an extra temp gauge so I can...

Tom, hope you are around.... Just wondering... we have been watching Starfire closely and have been amazed at the incredible "bounce back" we have seen. Within minutes of what happened today, Starfire was walking, eating etc. Totally back to normal. Is this because there was 2 of them...

That's right.... barely moving around, off the food. But still drinking every time we gave a bath. But the off the food was a slow decrease, not a sudden stop. The other one is doing incredibly well, eating, walking around. It's just amazing.

I really appreciate the advice..... I hope the adjustments I am making will help the other one. All my other tortoises are doing fine.

We have just cleaned out the entire enclosure....... then mixed up all the stars favourite things.....and ...... OMG..... the bigger one "Starfire" has not stopped eating since!!! Can anyone shed light on this? What she fretting over her sick friend? It is incredible. She is suddenly active...

Day 3 of "Star Watch" - again did the reptaid bath this morning, then into the sun. Both are showing a little movement. But only the bigger one is taking small bites of the food. Still doing everything I can think of.

Update#2 - We have had some progress in the bigger one today. She has taken a bite of some carrot strips and bokchoy. The smaller one also pooped just a small amount. I call these two small things progress. Hoping tomorrow will be further progress.

Update#1 - Gave them a reptaid bath just now.... in case it is parasites or worms. Now on newspaper to make sure they did hydrate and drink in the bath.
