vandezon

Newly acquired Spur, about 25 pds, have posted a few places on here, plus photos. We have 8 parrots, 1 dog, neighbors cat, I can tell if something is wrong with any of them, but having this tort is worrying me to death! Sort of inherited it, owner via neighbor said they fed him fruit, I asked about Mango but was told all fruit in general is not good, but then I see some folks feeding watermelon. I really hesitate on Mango, haven't given it, tho have given small bites of tomato with no skin. Endive, and Romaine. quit giving celery, basically he gets his food from wandering the yard.133'x190'. He has two places he likes to seek shade, one is his den in the ferns, the other is out back under some metal trays leaning against a cargo unit. Last evening he just stayed in shade of house for a while, then went to bed. I've spritzed him w/water twice. seems it's a good thing. He gets maybe one hibiscus blossom a day in the evening. He makes weird noises but I've heard they are normal (googled), and his mouth was bubbling last night but I've read on here it's due to overheating. Never gave much thought to Tortoise care until this guy appeared, sooooo much to learn and be aware of!
