I think it's still too small to sex. Looks female at the moment, but as she grows the anal scutes may open up wider and tail grow larger. Domalle will be here with his advice soon. I'm still on the learning curve, :D and enjoying it too.

Thanks so much!

:confused::confused:

Thanks for screen grab! I see what's wrong, mine doesn't give that as an option just the delete button. So it's definitely something on my side. Thanks so much for the help!:)
I'm not sure. But you may have to do a certain amount of posts before you can use the full forum software available. Some forums do this. Just say hello to me 50 times. Lol. Joking.

@Yvonne G should be able to shed some light on your issue.

No, the one who understands all the technical stuff here is Jaizei. I'm no good at this sort of thing. All I know is when I click on Michelle's thumbnail the picture fills my screen SO BIG that I have to scroll sideways and up and down to see the whole picture. Way too big. I've also tried to edit your pictures, but when I do the "full image" button doesn't show up. So I don't know, sorry.

In your opinion is this a wc or an extremely good cb. ? Are those chips on the carapace from transportation from the wild maybe?

I think you're right, Craig. This is probably one of the recent wave of WC Venezuelans arriving.
Given its size tho, it could also be farm bred there.
The WC animals are said to be laundered through the farms.
Michelle, the dark blotch on the plastron is variable but characteristic
of the northern redfoot forms.

I really don't know. I bought her from a pet store that wasn't sure, in September. I guess a year or two? I am glad I didn't get a hatchling. I definitely think that would be too much for me. :)

They were not much help with info. The workers knew very little. And on other websites.
We have 3 dogs and Spike, her favorite pet
Howdy Michelle, welcome home to the land of tortoises and turtles. You, your family, Spike and all of us on the Forum are very happy you found us and joined, becoming one of, "us" yourself.
Now to start with being the downer of your thread. Leave other web-sights alone. Most contain old, out-of-date information that ultimately cause illness or even the death of Spike. Here you will find folks actively raising and breeding and caring and sharing of tortoises with one goal in mind, (healthy, robust) tortoises. These are true caretakers that just want to share that information with you. Hard to beat elsewhere on the Internet Machine.
Downer #2) Dogs and tortoise are not to be trusted alone. I'm sure your 3 dogs are wonderful, trustworthy dogs, but given the opportunity, dogs see tortoises as chew toys that keep living or end up very injured by a chewing dog. We have many sad and tragic stories here supporting this on the Forum where the owner finds too fast they have no vet in the area that treats reptiles.
Realistic Downer #3) Find a vet in your area that treats reptiles or even better, treats tortoises. Better to have and not need, than to need and not have.
Also, if you have a smart phone, there is an app. I always use my phone, never the computer because for me, it's just all kinds of handy.
Realistic Not Downer) I can't wait to see you on here as a regular member, contributing when you can, and helping newbies out yourself. Keep asking and keep learning.

Thank you so much, not a downer at all! :) All great advice and appreciated!
My dogs and one cat are not allowed to be with Spike unsupervised and rarely with her at all. I introduced her to all our pets so they would know she is family though. My five year old daughter also knows she is not allowed to handle Spike when I am not there. And she handles her very little but gets to hand feed Spike if Spike is interested. :) Thanks Cowboy Ken!

to hand feed Spike if Spike is interested.
I recently got to have a pretty good, single car, auto accident. I survived with serious yet light-weight injuries. My oldest sister, (bless her heart) flew up here 3 time for about a month total to keep insurance under control and during that time she would also feed Stanley, my 50-65 lb. male sulcata. Well, one evening she came in and said that Stanley had bitten her finger. Completely confused, I asked her to explain how this could happen. She said she was hand feeding weeds like she always did, and he got the very tip and just bit down.
Being younger brother I am, I explained that I never hand feed because there's too much of a chance you could, "end up picking your nose with your elbow!" My sister got better and I still just make a pile of weeds.

haha! sorry for your accident! Glad it wasn't worse! Are you healed up now? Yes I can only imagine a bite from one of your big ones!! Ouch! Yes I once got my finger bit by Spike. (I obviously let the food get too small in my hand) so we now hold up the food so she sees it let her take a bite then LET GO! :)
