CView attachment 151973clearly some blossoms and greens on the slate to eat, but I'll eat these planted clovers...

Ha! I love those open-mouthed shots!

Yes, Troggy will ignore greens in his dish in favor of the sprouts growing in his enclosure. I don't blame him--they're fresh and crisp!

A day late and not a new photo, either! Troggy only gained one gram this week. He's eating, pooping, and his usual grumpy self. He's a bit less active - it's gotten cold here and our house temps have dropped. As a result, his enclosure has been 78 to 80 overnight. I turn the MVB on in the morning for an hour to get it up to 82 (88 to 90 on the second level) but turn it off until the late afternoon for safety reasons. Trying to figure out a solution for more consistent warm temperatures for him at the moment. Maybe another CHE...

I just ran into the same thing as well. I had to install a second CHE this afternoon. The enclosure only got to 77 F in the coldest corner but I don't want them to ever wake up with a cold or a RI. I like to be extra safe though.

Yeah, we're discovering a few issues with the build of Troggy's home, so are discussing building a new, much larger vivarium and moving it to another part of the house to accommodate the larger size. This was built so the lights would sit atop, but our fat cat has destroyed the plexiglass by sitting on it (it's warm, I can't blame her) and moved the MVB with her fat butt, nearly setting the enclosure on fire.

So... So much for a few years. It seems Trogdor will burninate a larger enclosure this fall.

176g. 10cm. 6.5 months. Very accomplished side-eye giver.

We're already planning a larger enclosure with easier access and better lighting and heat setup.

Troggy is 180g today. No photo update (maybe tomorrow) because of too many long work days in a row. Tiny dinosaur is getting less and less tiny these days!

Yeah, Troggy's new digs are in progress. Two stories, 3 by 6 on both levels, eight windows/access panels for viewing, cleaning, feeding etc... New plants have already arrived and I think the plan is to have the new setup done in the next week or so.

I'm trying to decide if I should completely replace his substrate or transfer the old over and mix it with new. He's got a complete ecosystem ( worms, snails, spiders, centipedes) that sprung up in there over the last few months, and I suspect that's a good thing.

How big is Gus Gus now?

Yes, it's added to the thread from the original build: http://www.tortoiseforum.org/index.php?threads/124422/

Tomorrow is weigh and measurement (and mugshot) day. Hopefully he'll be moving in to his new digs this weekend!

Burninating the countryside
Burninating the peasants..
Burninating all the people..
and their THATCHED-ROOF COTTAGES!!!

Precisely. I'm really hoping we can make one of the hides in his new home a THATCHED ROOF COTTAGE! And wait until you see the decorative item @Lemmywinks is making for the outside of the enclosure!

I'm always so excited when people know who Trogdor is.

lol, I get excited too. I never did get around to watching all of them... Some people are squirrel-handed. Gregor is a weird name.

I have a Trogdor hoodie, but it hasn't fit me in over 10 years lol. I suppose I'm keeping it for posterity. And the majesty.

Oh geez. I just can't even. This little monster gained 19g this week. 19! He's now 209g. I didn't quite believe it, so I weighed him twice.

Forget the new enclosure, I think we need to buy this guy a mansion.
