Good Herp Vet in Illinois

Anyone in the joliet area of illinois recomend a good herp vet i believe my mountain tortoise Bubbaloo has an eye infection.

Terramycin Ophthalmic Ointment works really well. You can find it at most feed stores. Maybe that will help until you can find a vet in your area, and it might clear up the infection.

I ended up going to the Crest Hill location on the list. There was only one vet there that sees reptiles and he was very excited to see Bubbaloo. He knew his stuff too. One of the three vets ive been to that didnt even try to recommend a vitamin shot ! He knew all about how iceberg and romaine offer no nutitional value in a tortoises diet and considered those lettuces to be starving one. He told me how he took up replties after he was getting bored with dogs and cats. He even let me look in the microscope at Bubbaloo's to show me what he saw was going on and its definatley an infection. So I was very impressed with Dr. Ronald Bray ! He took a culture and gave Bubbaloo a Batryl shot in the mean time and he will be going in again wednesday to get another. So as of right now I recommend seeing Dr. Ronald Bray at the Crest Hill Animal Hospital.

Oo that's a little under an hour away from my house. I would make the drive if I needed a reputable vet- thanks for the recommendation!

Yea he went for his second shot today and its night and day difference on the infection. The staff loves Bubbaloo too (and the name) ! I can say at this point i officially recommend this VET !
