We were able to see something truly amazing today. We spent the day at Zoo Atlanta and were given the opportunity to see the Ploughshare Tortoises that they are currently breeding. Only the Knoxville Zoo, and Oklahoma City Zoo have them on breeding loan. General public are not allowed to see them but being a veterinarian and Tortoise Keeper, I was able to get an invite to see them. They are absolutely spectacular . I have photos but can not share them. You will have to take my word that they are just awesome. They also have some beautiful Adult Radiata, Wild Caught Burmese Stars, and Cuora galbinfrons, Mexican box Turtles. Could not have had a better day. Having seen them, now I know why they are being smuggled out of Madagascar.

I didn't know anyone had them other than the Behler center. I'm allowed to post mine. :)

Thanks Tom. Beautiful tortoise. That gular is unbelievable. Is that a normal length for them? The gular I'm asking about. I love how domed they are.
