I enjoy all of your videos & pictures. I have 2 Russians, I am a first timer. I will probably never have the space you have for such beautiful creatures. I do have a question. How do you move 400-500 lbs Aldabras? Cranes, tow truck, car carrier? I have to know! Ramp into your truck?

Do you lure them in the trailer with food or will they just follow you in? My sully will not cooperate most times. If you knock on his shell lightly he can be directed some and will follow me some at times mainly being protective of his house when i am painting it. So to keep the time to a minimum it is best to just pick him up and into the wheel barrow. Just plain stubborn sometimes.

~ That also works for us at times, however usually when we are needing to load them it is stressful and they are not food driven under this type of stress. We do have tappers with rubber ends, however only certain tortoises will respond to that type of irritation. I have found it best to simply get them loaded and transport them as fast as possible to minimize the stress. We rarely move them.

One of mine reacts to a gentle tap, tap, tap on his rear end, but the other one is only motivated to move by the carrot/stick method.
