Addy was not quite herself yesterday, I found her eating some dried leaves and she slept in some odd places in the yard--didn't follow her usual pattern.

I came home for lunch today and when I went out to see her, she threw up. Just the foods she had eaten yesterday afternoon (sow thistle) and a very very thin stem from a leaf. She tried to throw up again but couldn't.

She is lethargic and not interested in food. She peed yesterday and I imagine she pooped but it's a big yard.

Time to take her to a vet? Or just soak her and wait?

it sounds like your tortoise ate something that didn't agree with it. I don't know if it is necessary but if it makes you feel better go ahead and take it to the vet it could rule a few things out

Thank you for your timely responses. Our vet is excellent and had a cancellation so we've already been in.

Nothing bad. As mentioned above, maybe ate something she didn't like or ingested a little bit of toxin. Maybe a minor respitory infection. We'll keep her warm and expect improvement.

Special bonus prize: she has a boatload of parasites! It's not surprising, she's wild caught. We couldn't get a fecal sample at her first visit but she made up for it today!

Perhaps it's a good thing you noticed these symptoms before things got worse. Hope your gal is feeling better! Could you post a photo of her?

Maybe. I'm such a worrywort I assumed she was gasping out her last breaths; the doctor was very nice but not concerned. :)

As for photos, she's not feeling photogenic today. Just sitting next to a warm wall with her head tucked in.

Thanks for asking!

Thanks all.

She is slow today but eating and moving about.

Also pretty grumpy with me after being hauled to the vet and back. Can't wait to worm her tonight.
