I was out yesterday pulling people out . Got 7 people a dog and cat . The water is moving too fast for this little boat now . There's been air boats and helicopters flying people out behind my house . I'm on higher ground . But the river is about two miles a way . The water is up so high air boats are shaking my house .

God bless you.

Wow. Just wishing all of you going through it, the best of good luck and keep safe and as dry as you can, with your families and pets.
This one is a history making event.
More to come, I am afraid - although hopefully not for Texas!
We are in Jamaica and now have our eyes on Irma.
Sigh.

My wife's car flooded out.
Explain to your wife that it's best not to pump the gas pedal so much with our modern automobiles before trying to start them. Explain that with the key turned to the on position, the fuel pump is electrically pumping gas into the system and this results in the flooding of the car.
Ideally she'll understand what you mean and will no longer leave her car susceptible to fly by night, flooding that only happens every few 700 years or so.
Actually, regardless of what a smart*** I am, I'm very happy y'all are doing well and that your critters are safe and sound as well.

It's bad here. My friends and myself are gearing up to go to Louisiana if need be . If not for Louisiana mud boats a lot of Texans would have died. If Louisiana gets hit we are coming.
Mike I hope to some day get to shake your hand❤️ you are doing what my soul screams to do but can't being stuck here in my safe cozy nest on top of the hill

Mike, Texas and Houston stepped up to the plate in a big way when Katrina paid us a visit. We hate that y'all got such a hit, but we're grateful to be able to help. :)

Just got this message from my friend :)
I am feeling amazingly thankful. The mandatory evacuation order on our area was lifted yesterday afternoon and we were able to return home. Miraculously, in the midst of so much damage and destruction in the Houston area our house was dry, even the fishes survived five days of neglect.

Wow. My kind of guy. Good man, you are. Those you've helped will never forget the gratitude.
