I have a year old leopard whom i've had for 2 months. He always has a water dish and soaks himself everyday. Do I still need to soak him? I don't know what the difference would be.

You might be right . When talking with with my brain ! But now let's talk with my heart what is the tort thinking when I pick them up to put them in their bath and it's warm ! How about later when I pick them up and gently dry them off ! Your a vet tec what is going through the torts mind ? Is this time important to the tort ?

I think he thinks, "Get me out of here!" He struggles when i put him in his tub, but is perfectly happy when he soaks himself in that tub. And his heart says, "Feed me!" That's about it, I think. :)

Remember torts don't feel things the way we do ! They don't get lonely just happy to be alone ! That " struggleing " is making their system work to poo ! But why make the bed your just going to mess it up tonight ?
But I'll keep putting my torts in the bath !

I find my babies sitting in their drinking bowl quite often. Perhaps it is because they are thirsty and climb on in or maybe they like the change in temperature. Either way, it accomplishes the same thing as a nice soak. If your little guy is enjoying some soak time in his enclosure, there really is no need to pull him out for another soak.
