No. Why?
To expand... a tort's diet, hydration and environment (humidity, substrate, floor area, temperatures and UVB) are very important.
Regular, but not too frequent, weighing is important so you can see a steady weight gain.
The actual number of scutes is irrelevant. You get occasional animals with split scutes, but there's no reason to find it of any particular concern.
