Well tis the season for planting the winter pasture for the Sulcatas! They definitely hate being penned up while the grass grows but they sure appreciate it later! Doing this every year allows my tortoises to have an unlimited supply of grass to graze on. I rotate them between pastures so the grass doesn't get depleted. The grass is definitely greener on the other side! [emoji6]IMG_20171018_134217780_HDR.jpgIMG_20171018_134235732_HDR.jpg

There are 3 mulberry trees along the fence! The grass planted is Rye grass and I have some spineless optunia and hibiscus planted along the back fence that you can't see in these pictures.

29 adult Sulcatas unfortunately all penned up together for another week or so till the grass thickens up. There's a big tortoise shed behind me not pictured where the rest are hiding.

Looks nice Austin. I assume you irrigate with that size of a yard? Do you lock up the torts when you irrigate during the cold weather, or just let them handle it?

Thanks Neal! Yes I do get irrigation. I don't lock them up because they still have plenty of areas to stay dry. When it's cold most of them stay out of it but I still get a few dare devils. I have a big shed that is heated all the time during the winter so they have a place to warm up if they choose to take a dip.
