All tortoises, not just baby ones, like to push into a corner to ho to sleep. They’re looking for somewhere safe. A corner has two sides that you cannot be attacked from.

Does your baby have anywhere he can hide in his enclosure?

Somewhat normal.

What are your four temps? What substrate are you using? What sort of hides are available to the tortoise?

@JoesMum there are lots of places to hide in the enclosure.

@Tom temperature never goes below 27 Degree Celcius.max temperature in the sun goes to 38 degree celcius.and 32 degrees where thereis no sunlight.
moisture does not go below 45%. it is mostly between 55% to 65%.i do sprinkle water at sunny side to increase moisture.
half of the Encloure is covered through sun. substrate is coconut peat with natural soil with coconut chips and dry hey. Also have little elevation in the enclosure which is wood where i keep food so that it doesnt get mixed with substrate.

below the elevation there is lots of dark place around 2 by 1 feet.

the baby goes to wooden ply in the corner and tries to push where there is no substrate.
now a days i could see that baby is spending time on wooden ply rather than in substrate.

thanks

Put a hide there? It seems to be where your tort wants to sleep. Joe and I had many differences of opinion on suitable sleeping places over the years. There's no logic to Joe's choices that I could ever find, but he knew.

As long as your tortoise is bright eyed, eating, gaining weight (however slowly that might be) and otherwise moving around fine then I wouldn't be too concerned
