Is anyone else having this issue?
For me, it will end my being a member, because 99% of the time, I am unable to have access to a standard computer.
The ap says that "no information" is sent to the server.
It also recommends supporting the forum.........(I do)

Ed, the app is working for me on both iOS and Android. I was using my iOS phone and am replying to this thread from my Android tablet

Josh had mentioned yesterday that he was going to pull the plug on the app... maybe it’s a slow roll out kinda thing

Yes, he stated it and is currently being discussed in the “photos posted in the Android app don’t show in the iOS app” forum

I believe he mentioned something of the cost compared the troubles he’s having with the app

Have the folks that use the app tried using the site through their web browser? It's a much, much better solution, and is fully functional. The app is developed by a 3rd party that we pay (Tapatalk) and they have a sub-par product and support to match. Unfortunately at this time, there are no alternatives.

Please give TFO a try in your mobile browser. It's designed to be mobile-friendly.

I just use my google app / browser. The TF app does me no favors & it’s just easier to access through main portal.
Of course I need to be online , but that’s pretty easy.

I sort of voiced that in the other thread and was told thst the screen on the phone is too small. I don't understand?????? I get along just fine on the web with my Kindle and the screen is pretty small - about 3" x 5"

I find the website a challenge on my iphone 6 screen. It’s just too small. Much smaller than a kindle! (Half the size roughly) The iPhone 5 which also runs iOS11 is even smaller.

The app is much better ...and search works in the app unlike on the browser version!

The iOS app is how I access the site 80% of the time.

On my Android tablet the browser version is more readable, but I still use the app most of the time. I only go to the browser if there’s a picture problem.

It is all very well people saying “I do just fine with the browser”, but when the apps were unavailable it showed that a huge number of members, many of them daily regulars, were not fine with the browser. They left and the site dwindled to nothing.

This site lives and dies with its members. Somehow we need to keep the apps going in order to keep it alive.

I understand what you're saying, and I'm not computer literate, so I really don't know what I'm talking about. But since Josh says the Tapatalk app is junk and not well maintained and hard to reach help from them, I think it would behoove all of us to try to get used to using the browser. I know if it were MY forum and I couldn't get help from a service that is not a good one, I'd give serious thought to not using that service anymore.

I agree ! When it went down the last time I didn’t reply until it came back up . And Evan now my iPad still wouldn’t let me reply !

Actually I just double checked the analytics for that period and traffic remained the same.

That statistic is not borne out by the number of people who posted on the forum in the period.

You didn’t need Google Analytics.

You just had to come on the site at 8am UK time and realise that, instead of pages of threads to catch up with, there were maybe 5... and two of those were chat threads so social rather than helping tortoises.

The apps may be horrible from a sysadmin point of view... and it’s the same on my IT forum... but they keep this place alive and I am not the only one who really hopes a way can be found for them to stay.
