I caved. @Clamhandsmcgee

Introducing Bats H. Brucio. My new gorgeous baby as of 11/21/17! He's approx. 8 months old, I believe. Photos from his first night home (last night 11/21/17):

Alrighty so here's a question that's probably gonna sound a bit weird.

I know he doesn't need the basking lamp so I haven't used it other than just to flip it on to snap a couple photos. (The lamp is there because the enclosure was previously housing my Leopard.)

The lamp itself can be removed completely but I'd like to keep it there and see if I can find some sort of low heat bulb that will make the enclosure "look" warmer by giving off a nice low ambient light. With just the UVB the enclosure looks like a "garage" lol.

Any suggestions?

This guy makes noise. I can't tell if it's vocal or some sort of, geez, I don't know how to describe it. Almost sounds like chirping sometimes. They don't even have vocal chords, right? Lol. Maybe he's somehow making the noise with his beak? Here's a video I took yesterday.

Turn he volume UP!

A low wattage incandescent bulb?

He is grinding his beak together. My sulcata does this on occasion and I don't think there is a problem with it. Mine seems to do it when he is relaxed or sees me prepping food. I called it his "lip smack"

Lol, when you're prepping food? That's cute. Yes, I've only noticed it during his soaks. Seemed to have been louder yesterday, the first couple soaks I thought it was either A. My imagination or B. His nails scraping the container. Wasn't until yesterday I realized it was coming from his face hahaha

I soak him in a tub in the sink, I prep his morning meals right next to him and sometimes slip him a piece while he is soaking.
The first time I heard Clunker do it I thought something was wrong too and had to do a search on the forum:)
