Hey i have a 4 to 5 year old red footed tortoise hes about 8 to 9 inches im not sure but yesterday was his protein day which i had been lacking in i had him for about 5 months with no protein which was bad so i boiled him 2 eggs and ended up giving him an egg and a quarter and chopped it up finely so he could eat it with ease and mixed it with his usual being romaine lettuce green leaf lettuce green and yellow quash and green beans and sometimes tomato and cut his usual in half and mixed it up and gave it to him which he ate with ease and enjoyed very much and then the next day wouldnt eat very much just a bit of green leaf lettuce and romaine lettuce not to sure which one he ate and i was reading up and people were saying its normal and then i heard him making really weird noises and he ended up vomiting so i read up on that and then quickly tryed soaking him to get him to drink and he didnt so he sat there and soaked for about 10 mins while i cleaned out the poop and barf from his aquarium and i put him in his aquarium with his water dish which is also his soaking dish so he can get in it whenever he likes and makes it easier for him to drink and then he drank so i think it isnt a blockage but maybe parasites? im not to sure whether or not to take him to the vet is it possible that the protein just upset his stomache or the protein agrovated his parasites that he may have im not to sure please let me know i keep his humidity at about 70 and then his temps are 90 on one side and about 85 on the other he's in a 90 gallon aquarium which im making a tortoise table right now so that will change and he has a UVB and a 150 watt ceramic light bulb let me know the reason why he threw up and if i should be worried he seems fine walks normal and is acting normal im just not to sure let me know

I would check for parasites, wouldn't hurt. Egg might have upset his stomach, usually the complaints are that it gives torts diarrhea.

Don't feed too much tomato or green beans, it's not a go to food but a once in a long while kind of thing.

I feed my Redfoot mango, fig, okra, rainbow chard, wheat grass, cremini mushrooms, Mazuri kibble, and sweet potato. Rowan has also been fed carrot, turnip greens, and clover. My little one's finicky, so it's been trial and error on what she'll eat.

I would take him to a reptile vet and have him checked for parasites. The vet will need a sample of his poop and vomit if you can get some of it and carry it with you.
His diet needs more variety. Check out a good tortoise diet/care sheet and see what a huge variety of food they will enjoy and that will be good for them.
Not having been given any protein in such a long time and then being bombarded with it would surely cause the diarrhea anyway, especially egg. He could get some boiled egg crushed up with the shell about once per week. This will give him protein and calcium, but he can also be given pink mice, snails, wetted dry cat food, and even a good brand of dog food sometimes.

I give mine chicken (boiled), cooked shrimp, sardines in water, tuna in water, earthworms, snails, or egg w/shell for protein every 2-3 weeks.
