Im rescue/adopting a 9-10 year old red foot in the new year and I'm having trouble finding proper diet information. Everywhere I look online is just saying what to feed juveniles.

The people I am getting her from told me that they feed her a mainly romaine lettuce and they add a mix of other fruit and veg throughout the week(apple, pear, strawberry, mango, banana, mushroom, bell pepper, tomato, zucchini) and they also offer small amounts of cat food a few times a week.

Is this a suitable diet for an adult? I keep reading that romaine is not the best for them. What else could I offer her?

I want her to have the best diet possible and I am finding such mixed information online.

I live in southern Alberta so it is too cold most of the year to grow my own food so ill have to be able to get everything from the grocery store.

You want to feed protein only once per week, not a few times a week. Cut out the banana and tomato. The rest of the veggies and fruits are good. Papaya and mango are good choices. Romaine is fine in rotation but add in turnip greens, dandelion greens, and spring mix.

Thank you=) is cat food a good choice for protein? I would probably feed what I have my cats on( now fresh: adult fish formula)

I'm not familiar with that food. You can also feed cooked chicken and scrambled eggs. I've used this cat food:20170830_124417.jpg

Good food: Watercress, okra, green beans, cactus, clover, mustard greens. Just to name a few.
