Red necked pond turtle (Mauremys nigricans)

I have a few used medium sized waterland tubs coming this week and a huge 300 gallon stock tank so I should have room for them for a while.

Solid setup Charlie. That’s great.
Try to ensure that they get access to natural sunlight if possible. At least through the screen enclosure.

Have you introduced Alaskan salmon to them yet? Look out when you do. I give it to all of my Mauremys once every couple of weeks.

I would assume fresh Charlie. I’ve fed salmon to my aquatic turtles from time to time...when Barbie is making it for dinner. But the turtles don’t get her killer lemon and dill sauce!

Well I don’t eat fish so there won’t be any fresh salmon here or a need for her recipe although it sounds delicious.

I was lucky enough to add an unrelated 2016 female to this young group. She is the darker head on photo.
The lighter red/orange photo is a 2017 that looks like he’s taking on adult male characteristics.
