I'm sure you get tired sexing leopard tortoises, but I cannot convince myself of what these are. The first two or four years old in about 14 lb. The third one is 5 years old in about 8 pounds. Thank you for your help!

Note how far away from the body the cloaca is. Pictures 1 and 3 are male, but 2 might still be too young to tell. It looks female right now. If you go strictly by the direction the anal scutes are pointing, they would all be female. On female the anal scutes point in or straight back. On males they point out. But the cloaca is a definite tell on the males here.

Yvonne, I was perplexed by your response, as I saw all females. Had they been younger, I'd agree, but at this age and size, they're looking female. And, if the owner hasn't been flashed by now... For that matter, I'm surprised none of them have laid. That third one may have problems laying with those pinched anal scutes, but you breeders out there would know better than I. How about some carapace pics, or the group all together?

I'm with Yvonne, scutes and tail length for 1 and 3 are male, 2 looks more female, but the scutes are still pretty narrow, may have not matured yet.

Again, I think the size and ages of these animals is very telling. They're four and five years old, ranging from eight to 14 lbs. In my experience, were they males, the owner would have seen it by now.

I agree also... I would be very surprised if any turned out male. At that age and size you would normally be seeing a lot more male physical and behavioural characteristics... flashing being the most blatant. All four of my confirmed male leos were obvious males at smaller and younger stages in their development than your three.
