Hello!

I'm in the process of creating a new enclosure for my 18 y.o. hermanni tort Speedy! He's been living indoor in a tub all his life, but it's time for something bigger. I bought a shelf, took out the shelves and put it on the ground. I'm planning to somehow cover it with some kind of plastic, so that it's easy to clean (just take out the plastic and throw the substrate in the trash), and is waterproof (so that my floor doesn't get humid).
Do any of you have any experience with this? What would be the best way to do this?

What are the dimensions of the bookshelf? If it is the same as what I use as part of my Russian's enclosure, then unfortunately it is far too small for Hermann.

He's about 13,5 cm. What are you saying would be a good size enclosure?

Well I don't have room for that right now, but I want to make it as good for him as possible with what I do have. Could we focus on the actual question in the first post?

You can add a 2nd level, without sacrificingbspace for your lil one.

It needs to be much larger. He won't be able to digest his food properly if he does not have enough room to roam.
